 Beneath the Same Sky

ree

Last night I sat on the beach and looked up to see more stars than I’ve ever seen in my life.

It felt like the sky had opened just for me — quiet, endless, and full of conversation.

I didn’t speak much.

I prayed.

I listened.

And somewhere between the sound of the waves and the rhythm of my breath, I remembered why Gospel & Grass Stains exists in the first place.

It’s not about perfection.

It’s not about pews or programs or who has it all figured out.

It’s about presence.

It’s about sitting beneath the same sky and remembering that God still meets us in the ordinary — in coffee cups and conversations, in laughter and questions, in stories that aren’t finished yet.

It’s okay to come weak and broken.

It’s okay to come confused, uncertain, or full of questions.

You don’t need to have it all together to show up here — just a heart that’s willing to be honest and open.

Because sometimes faith begins right where the pieces fall apart.

To the members who show up every week — to those who connect, who reach out, who bring others in — my heart explodes with joy to be part of each of your journeys. Watching faith come alive in community is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever witnessed. My heart and soul are on fire, and I want this fire to spread. To grow. To keep reminding people that they belong — right where they are, just as they are.

Every week, people gather — some with faith worn thin, others with hearts on fire — and together we make something sacred out of simple things.

We pray, we talk, we listen, and we remind one another that grace grows best in the wild.

To the pastors, leaders, and dreamers who have noticed this movement: thank you.

You are the ones who understand how powerful it is when the Church steps outside its walls and into the world God made.

You are the ones who see that the gospel doesn’t need to be confined — it just needs to be lived.

Maybe the stars looked brighter last night because I could feel what’s coming — a widening, a reaching, a quiet revival born from grass roots and open skies.

And maybe, just maybe, God smiled too.
